So what should you send along with that press release?

If you have been reading my site or blog, you’ll know that I am a fan of the press release and definitely encourage you to send them out.
If you’re sending them directly to someone via snail mail or if you have a physical product that you want to include a sample of, you should also be including a press kit.
Now, if you’re faxing, emailing, or distributing your press release online, all you need is a press room on your site.
I wrote an article that describes what these things are and how to use them. I suggest you click here to read it : )
And if you don’t know how, or simply don’t want to write your own press releases, I recommend grabbing these “mostly done” press releases by PR Pro Shannon Cherry. She’s done almost all the work for you. You just enter in some personal information to finish the release (and they’re VERY cost effective). Click below to buy them!
Freebie Friday: Help With Your Affiliate Program
It’s no secret that I think affiliate programs are great! Starting one will help you grow your business faster than you ever could alone. Plus, they are very budget friendly. What’s not to like?
For all their benefits, they can be a bit confusing at first. Starting your own program and learning the “ins and outs” can seem like an overwhelming task.
Don’t worry - help is on the way! My friend Angela Wills is an experienced affiliate manager. She has many clients who pay her to handle their affiliate programs for them. Obviously, she has learned a thing or two along the way and has some tricks to share.
And she’s sharing them for free! You’ll receive a great handbook, tons of audio, and more! (Obviously, this is free, so it’s more than worth the “price” of admission, but even if there was a charge to it, it would be worth buying!)

Relaunching CleverChicks.com
Back in 2004 or 2005 - long before I even knew how to build a website, I registered my first domain (www.CleverChicks.com). I had no idea of what I was going to do with it, and have tried to play with it here and there over the years…. Well, I think I may have it figured out. Why don’t you go take a look and let me know what you think?
So what do you think of FaceBook?
I’ve been on MySpace for several years, and I think it’s a great networking tool. I recently became introduced to FaceBook and am trying to figure it all out. It’s a lot different than I thought it would be - there are so many widgets and applications. But it does seem like a good place to network.
I’m not going to get rid of MySpace (click here to be my friend)…..
But I am going to spend some time getting to know what FaceBook is all about. I even created the Indie Biz Chicks group. I’m not quite sure how to promote my FaceBook profile yet, but search for me or send me your email and I’ll add you.
While you’re at it, send me any other FaceBook tips you can think of. I’m going to need them!
Do You REALLY Need Retail Relationships?
If you sell a physical product, one of your goals may be to develop retail relationships and have your products featured in retail outlets across your town, across the nation, or even across the world.
But is it really necessary? There are pros and cons to this, and before you invest too much in to making it happen, I think it’s important to think about both sides of the equation.
As for the pros, I’m sure you know them all: you’ll get exposure, possibly have some steady wholesale orders to carry you through hard times, and hopefully end up selling more product than you ever thought possible.
But what about the cons? If you are not ready to produce enough items, this could be an overwhelming work load that leaves you stressed, irritated, and without much of a social life. The cost of your product is going to go up, since the retail outlet needs to make money on top of the money you are making, and what happens if you don’t like the way the store is representing you or your product?
Selling your product yourself via a website may be a better solution. You can still attract local and global customers, you can set any price you want, and you are in complete control of your product.
Now, if you REALLY want to develop some retail relationships, I wrote an article explaining how to get your products noticed (and possibly picked up) Click Here to read it
