I’ve been reading a lot about the new Scratch Back Widget and thought I would go ahead and give it a try. (for those that don’t know, a widget is a little gizmo you can install on your blog) You’ll find this new “toy” over on the right column of the blog under the heading “Are You In My Top Spots”
Basically, this widget is supposed to help the blogger earn a bit of money, and help the blog readers increase their web traffic.
If you want to be listed in someone’s top spot, you pay $5. Your link is then there for the world to see (and hopefully, the world will click on that link). Since this is a one-way link, this will also make the search engines take notice. (the search engines like one way links).
I just bought my own top spot on another blog today, too. So I will check my stats and see if I get any traffic from that. I know my friend Nell from Answer Lady Network had been doing this and she saw some dramatic increases in her search engine rankings…
Which of course, is not bad for a $5 ad…
In any case, the jury is still out on this. I haven’t played around with it long enough to know if it is as awesome as people say.
But why don’t you help me try this by buying one of my top spots? Let me know if it brings you traffic!
FREE FRIDAY: Great Resource!
As a business owner, it is important to have some interaction with other business owners and to be able to brainstorm with one another, get honest advice, and constructive criticism.
Thanks to the internet, it doesn’t matter if you live in New York City or a small town in Alaska (like me), you can still connect virtually with business owners all over the globe.
While there’s lots of forums and message boards to choose from, I do have to give you a bit of caution. Not everyone who is using these boards knows what they are talking about. While they may have good intentions, they may be giving out half truths or wrong information.
One of the message boards I frequent is Mom Masterminds. The people on this board know what they are talking about and they are serious! This is a Mastermind Group - it does cost a monthly fee to belong for the first year and a half, but that is because you will also have access to tons of free resources, including ebooks, special reports, and audios.
I’ve learned so much from this group that the price I paid in membership fees is a drop in the bucket compared to what it would have cost me to buy all those books and learning programs separately. Plus, I’ve mad a lot of business friends! : )

Review: Most of us have seen blogs and know what they are. Many of us have thought about setting up a blog but wonder how we can get it out there for the world to see. When you register with Technorati they will keep track of your blog. I was impressed by how they were able to let me know who was looking at my blog, what they were saying and how it affected my blog and business.
I was able to stay in touch with other weblogs. Some of the authors were very influential to my business. In fact I learned alot about blogs and how they can help me in my line of work.
Technorati will index your blog. Not only with they have the initial blog but also every time you add something new or update your blog they will see that it is indexed in the proper way to drive people to your blog easily.
Technorati ranks your blog. It does it by how many sites are linking to it. So the more popular your blog, the more people save it in their favorites, the better your ranking. They continually monitor your blog for these types of things. So when you tag your blog with Technorati it tells them and other people what your blog is all about. This will help drive traffic to your blog.
You can also use Technorati to find blogs that you want to read and comment on. By using tags (keywords) you can find blogs that are most linked to or most popular for the area you are wanting to checkout.
Technorati is easy to register with and has so many advantages that no one should be without it. I’m sure that if you try it you will find that your blog isn’t just left out there in the cold. It will be visited and used by many and you will be happy with the results.

I found that in some instances my videos weren’t looking or sounding just as I wanted them to. With Camtasia Studio you don’t have to worry. You can format in many different files such as MP3, iPod, QuickTime, Abode Flash just to name a few. Because it works with PowerPoint it’s a breeze to check out what it looks and sounds like before making your final choice.
It also helps you edit and publish your video. It publishes right to Screencast so others can view it without any problems. So no more trying to figure it out. Let Camtasia Studio do the work so to speak.
The files are small and easy to work with. They even have a table of contents. Now how can you beat that when you’re trying to get your point across quickly and easily?
This software is so easy to use whether or new at the game or an old hat. I picked up on it right off the bat and if I can anybody can. They also have online support if you start to struggle in anyway.
The price is perfect. No one can argue that this is the best deal for the money. If it works for me it will work for anyone so give it a shot and see for yourself.
