I’m curious…how do you distribute your gift guide? And do you charge for it? How many were distributed last year?

    thanks!

    Harriet

  2. It is downloadable from my site and I distribute to my mailing list, and virally through social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Other website owners I know also send it to their mailing lists and offer it for download. Because of the viral nature of it being passed around and around and around, I cannot tell you how many people saw it. I do know that it was mailed out to over 12,000 people and that is before any of the viral marketing takes place…..

  3. Oh – I forgot to add that is a free download

    Hey Crissy!
Do you have a copy of last years guide I can take a look at? That would be great! :)

  6. Yep – as I mentioned above, last year’s guide is available. You can view it by clicking here.

    Hi Crissy!
Do you limit the number of like businesses? In other words, if there is 3 Tastefully Simple reps wanting to advertise, do you only allow 1 or all 3?
    Thanks :)

  8. well, I don’t have any direct sales reps in it at all…but if I did, then yes, I would only let 1 person represent each company.

That being said, I do have several people who make jewelry, but I don’t limit that because they are each making different types of jewelry, have different price points, and appeal to various markets.

This is a great idea and bravo on your marketing of it. May I suggest a re-phrasing of the “Celebrating Other Cultures” to something like “Celebrating Many Cultures” or “Celebrating Throughout Our Community.” The first is actually very exclusive although it doesn’t intend to be.
I’m a big fan of your work and will buy an ad.

  10. Thanks for your comment, Sascha.

The fact is, that it is a holiday guide. If you look at last year’s, there is information in there about Christmas, Hanukkah, and even Kwanzaa. It does span different cultures, but the fact is that they are all holidays.

Taking the “holiday” out of it makes it feel less special in my opinion.

  11. Crissy,

My site, Girlfriendology, is all about inspiration, appreciation and celebration of girlfriends. I’d love to write an article for this guide (in addition to advertising) – like ideas for giving girlfriend gifts. Is that an option?

    Thanks! Debba / Girlfriendology.com

Im an interior designer, shop owner and I have an online store that carries over 600 items. If I chose to advertise my company do you have a graphic designer that can create a small ad or is that my responsibility?

  14. I can make an ad for you (for an additional fee of $35) or I can recommend some other people to you and you can take your pick of who you like best… or you can ask your other business friends and see who they use…

  15. This is a great idea. I’ve signed up. I realize that ads are due by tomorow however the checkout process didn’t give me any information to place my ad. Will you be contacting people directly?

  16. Yes – as soon as the order is placed, you should receive an email w/ all that info.
