August is almost here! If you’ve got blogger’s block, I’m here to help. Here are five things you can blog about in August (I’ll explain at the end how to adapt the ideas to your blog):
The Olympics – It only happens every four years, so you might as well blog about it while you can!
Summer Meals & Desserts: This is pretty much your last chance in 2012 to write about any of your favorite summer recipes!
What You’re Reading – The term ”Summer Reading” seems funny to me. Why can’t people read all year long? Anyway – it’s a good time to blog about books, since people are still looking for a “Summer Read.” Also – I just stumbled upon The Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge - which is a great starter for a blog post, especially if you were a fan of the Gilmore Girls TV show!
Your View Of Summer – Take some pics and blog about what Summer looks like to you. This could be a pic of your coffee cup and computer on your porch; a trip to the local Farmer’s Market, the flowers in front of your house; whatever Summer looks like to you, take a pic and show it off.
Back To School Shopping: There’s no denying it. It’s that time of year. You can blog about your memories of back to school shopping as a kid or you can blog about the deals you’re getting right now for your own kids.
Now – you may be wondering .. How do you adapt these ideas to your blog? Especially if you have a business, and you want to promote your products and services within your blog posts?
Well, here are a few ideas:
Your View Of Summer – let’s say you make jewelry, and you have a blue necklace that reminds you of a trip you took to the beach. Show off a pic of that beach, and then blog about your day there and how the blue water inspired you to make this blue necklace, and then include a picture of the necklace and the link that will take people to buy the necklace.
Books You’re Reading – let’s say you are a Virtual Assistant … You can talk about some books you’re reading / have read / etc. Then at the end of the post, you can include a blurb stating that you are a VA and that business owners can have a lot more time on their hands to read if they hire you.
