Just know what you're getting into! I agree that especially if you've never put something like this together before, starting small is key - the last thing you want to do is get in over your head! Shopping parties at your home or the homes of friends & family are also a great way to do a smaller craft show type experience. I've done them where I've invited other artists to my home, and then invited friends and family for shopping, drinks and appetizers.
