I used the word “shameless” during a conversation with my mom, and she mentioned that the word (along with brazen & brash) is almost always used to describe women.
Men, on the other hand, have words like “ballsy” and “go-getter” … and they don’t have nearly as many negative connotations.
Interesting, no?
Very good point, Kelly. A man is honored when someone tells him he’s being “ballsy” – but women are expected to stand back on the sidelines….
Ladies – you really can’t let that happen to your business! Take control, don’t be afraid to show people you are awesome, and don’t let anything stand in your way!
Well behaved women rarely make history!
Crissy, I couldn’t agree with you more! A colleague of mine refuses to do these basics, and instead focuses on why her business is stagnant. It’s simply maddening!
It didn’t take me long to get comfortable with shameless self-promotion. Of course, it certainly helps to balance it with sincerely supporting others’ businesses, too. Thanks for the tips!
Hey Crissy,
