The pictures and graphics that you use on your website, blog, in your item listings, etc are VERY important. Don’t believe me? Just look at how fast Pinterest grew (it’s the fastest growing social networking site, ever!).
People like pictures – and using good looking pictures will get you more traffic and more sales! (On the other hand, having shoddy graphics and pictures will make you look unprofessional, and it will drive traffic and sales away…. Trust me, I’ve clicked away from many websites and blogs, just because they looked poorly put together and used crummy images.)
You don’t need a college degree in graphic design or expensive programs like Photoshop to create graphics or enhance your pictures.
You can use a free program called Gimp, which is very similar to Photoshop.
There are lots of other tools out there, too. In this video, my friend Angela shows you how to resize a photo using Picmonkey.
Speaking of Angela, she has put together a self-study collection of videos called Gimp Graphics Mojo, which explains how to use Gimp, step-by-step. Access to these videos is only $27. Let me tell you, learning how to create graphics for just $27 is a much better bargain than paying a graphic designer $100+ each time you want a new graphic created!
If you are not the self-study type, she has a graphics coaching program starting, where she will literally walk you through the process of creating graphics, through the videos, emails, homework & feedback, live Q&A sessions, and lifetime retakes! Learn more about the Gimp Graphics Mojo Coaching program here. (the coaching starts on March 11, so don’t miss out!)
