Believe in Yourself (Even When No One Else Does)

When you’re just getting started in business, one of the hardest parts isn’t the tech, the marketing, or even figuring out what to sell. It’s the doubt.

There will be people who question you. People who say you’re wasting your time. People who just don’t get it. And honestly? Sometimes you won’t even feel like you get it.

But here’s the truth: you have to believe in yourself before there’s any proof. You have to hold onto your vision and stay focused on what you want, even when the results haven’t shown up yet. Because that belief — paired with consistent action — is what builds a business that lasts.

Proof Doesn’t Come First

Most people want evidence before they take action. They want to know for sure that something will work before they put in the effort. But business doesn’t work like that.

You put in the effort first — the time, the energy, the late nights, the trial and error. The proof comes later, when the seeds you’ve planted finally start to grow.

And yes, it takes time. It takes work. But if you’re building your business the right way — with solid foundations, real systems, and a focus on serving your audience — you’re building something that can last for years.

My Story: Why I Kept Going

When I started my business back in 2007, I had no idea where it would take me. But I knew I wanted more freedom and flexibility in my life — and I believed it was possible.

That belief has carried me through so many different seasons:

  • When my nephews and niece were little: I was their main babysitter, and I was only working about 10 hours a week. My business still gave me income and the flexibility to be with them.

  • When my mom was sick and in the hospital: I spent all day, every day by her side. And still, I could send an email from my phone in the hospital room — and money would come in.

  • Even now: I work a part-time job outside the house just so I can get out and be around people. And yet, my business still earns passive income every single day.

If I had listened to the doubts — my own or other people’s — I wouldn’t have this business that continues to support me and give me freedom 18 years later.

Focus on What You Want

When doubt creeps in, ask yourself: Why am I doing this?

Do you want more freedom? More income? More time with your kids? The ability to take a day off when life happens?

Hold onto that vision. Write it down. Look at it every day. Because that’s what will keep you going when the results are slow to show up.

Results Take Time (But They’re Worth It)

It’s easy to get frustrated when success doesn’t happen overnight. But every blog post you write, every email you send, every digital product you create — it all adds up. You’re building assets that can work for you long-term.

The key is not to quit when things feel slow. Because if you keep going, you’ll eventually look back and realize: all those small steps added up to a business that gives you freedom and income for life.

Believing in yourself isn’t always easy, especially when you don’t have proof yet. But it’s necessary. Because if you don’t believe in your vision, no one else will either.

So keep going. Keep putting in the time and energy. Keep building the business you know is possible. It may take longer than you want, but the payoff is a business that supports your life — not the other way around.

And trust me: it’s worth it.
