I have a cold… and so I decided to have a “do-nothing” weekend. I try to be a good example and I think it’s a good idea to do something business-related everyday. But this weekend, I just didn’t do much at all.
I normally spend my Saturdays running errands, working, and spending time with friends at night. But I lounged around during the day – and gulp, watched TV. The only time I left was to get more tissues!
Last night, my friends were celebrating one of our friend’s birthdays. I didn’t even go to that. I feel a little bad, but I didn’t want to get anyone sick. One of my friends is having surgery later this week, and I definitely did not want to get her sick!
Instead, I watched the first four episodes of True Blood. I had never seen it before, but I figured I’d give it a try. It’s a show on HBO, and most HBO shows are very good. The plot is that vampires have come out in the “open” and can buy synthetic blood at the convenience store. A bit far fetched, yes, but it was really good — and intriguing. There’s a mystery going on in that show!
Today, I slept in, went to the grocery store, and have some homemade chicken soup simmering on the stove. I rented episodes 5-7 of True Blood and am going to start those as soon as I’m done with this post.
When I get done with my dinner and DVD, I plan to do a little more work… answering some emails and stuff. But nothing too major. I don’t take a lot of time off, and I am definitely enjoying my “do-nothing” weekend.
If you haven’t taken one of these weekends for yourself in a while, I suggest you do so! Keep in confined to a weekend, though. When you take too much time off, it can be hard to get back in the groove.
But one of these weekends, take some time to watch DVDs and lounge around on the couch. It’ll make you feel like a million bucks!
I love the sound of this. Consider me game.
