New Biz Books!

One of the presents I received this year for Christmas was a pre-paid Visa card. I used that card, a long with a little of my own money, to buy some new business books. Business Books are good for the soul! And if you apply what you learn, they are an awesome investment in yourself and your business!

Here’s what I bought:

Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook by Gary Vaynerchuk – I’ve never read any of Gary Vaynerchuk’s books before. I know a lot of people who LOVE him. And I mean LOVE, LOVE, LOVE him. This is his newest book, so I decided to give it a shot. It’s a strange title for a business book, but he is describing the idea of giving people a lot of free content, and then asking for the sale. I know some people who have already read it and they had good things to say. So, we shall see what I end up thinking of it!

Think And Grow Rich, 21st Century Workbook Edition by Napoleon Hill – This is not a new book – it was originally published in 1937. I’ve never read it. But I’ve heard that I should, countless times. I’m finally going to do it!

Make A Name For Yourself: 8 Steps Every Woman Needs To Create A Personal Brand Strategy For Success by Robin Fisher Roffer – Jennifer Donough of Young Female Entrepreneurs recommended this book (and she was also one of the many people who has mentioned the above book). I looked at the preview for this book on Amazon and really liked the way the author wrote. I’ve only read the preview, but the author drew me in by telling a personal story of how she was at a party and nearly dropped her drink when she was introduced in a certain way, and wondered if that was how everyone saw her. I’m excited to read this book and learn more about how she purposefully created her brand and how others saw her (and that’s something we all need to know how to do)!

May Cause Miracles by Gabrielle Bernstein – Let me start out by saying that I’m not that “airy-fairy” or “woo-hoo.” I DO have an open mind. I read The Secret, I get the purpose of a vision board. At the same time, I don’t practice all of this “intention” stuff. But maybe I should. I saw the author of this book being interviewed by Oprah. Have I been interviewed by Oprah? NO. Maybe I can learn something from this book, after all. haha But again, I’ve seen people mention this book on their blogs and social media and people seem to like it, so why not give it a chance?
