What A Busy, Busy Week It’s Been!!!

My nephew Caden at the 12:05 am showing of Eclipse

This has been an entirely BUSY week!

On Monday I was a panelist on the #GNO Small Business discussion. I had a great time sharing my ideas and met some new people with some great ideas of their own.

On Tuesday, I attended my nephew Trenton’s last T-ball game of the season. He had two really good hits (he can hit with the ball pitched to him) and then he got his trophy. He was so proud of that thing!

Later that night, I picked up my nephew Caden and we went to see Eclipse at the 12:05am showing! He is a big Twilight fan. He had read all of the books and kept telling me to read them and to watch the Twilight DVD.

I finally caved last November, and watched the DVD over Thanksgiving weekend. New Moon was in the theater at that time, and I wanted to know what was going to happen next, so I went to see that about an hour after I finished Twilight! And then I figured the books would have more background info, so I read all four of the books between Thanksgiving weekend and Christmas. Once I started reading them, my sister started them, and by New Year’s, we were all Team Edward Twihards.

Needless to say, we were all very excited to see Eclipse. And, it came out on my sister’s birthday! She was originally going to go to the midnight showing, but couldn’t go in to work late and didn’t want to be running on 2 hours of sleep. So it was just Caden and I — but we had a blast!

We had to park across the street from the movie theater and wait in line for an hour and a half, but it was worth it. He absolutely loved it and talked about the fight scenes all the way home. Since we knew we weren’t going to get out of the movie until after 2am, he had already planned on spending the night at my house. When we got home, he wanted to make s’mores, and as the best aunt in the world, I had to make them! I got him to go to bed at about quarter after three, and then I made him eggs, bacon and raspberry crepes for breakfast the next day.

As I mentioned before, my sister’s birthday was Wednesday, but that was not the only event taking place that day. My mom was also having some outpatient eye surgery. I hung out with her and the boys that evening; playing games with the boys and watching them make art projects.

Today (Friday), I went over and sat with the boys for an hour or so to fill in the gap of my mom going to work and my sister coming home from work (she only had to work a couple hours today).

So yes – a very busy week. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
