The Law Of Attraction … I’m sure you have all heard of it by now. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s the idea that you can attract what you want in your life by creating vision boards, setting intentions, and positive thinking.
It sounds a little “woo woo” when you first hear about it… But what if there was something behind it?’
I saw the Oprah episode that featured The Secret – and I watched the movie after that. And there was a part of me that saw how it could work, but another part of me that brushed this stuff off… But I’ve recently started thinking that maybe this does work, after all.
Do you believe in it? If not, let me tell you a couple stories that might change your mind …
One of my friends is getting ready to launch her first ebook. I met this friend at BlogHer a couple of years ago, and we kept in touch via Facebook. She sent me a message one day to tell me about her ebook, and I had some ideas that I wanted to share with her, so we jumped on Skype and she was telling me how this is something she’s wanted to do, and now certain things were just falling into place.
Yes, she is taking action on this – but this was something that she wanted, thought about, and now things are just flowing.
I had a similar experience when I started my business. But first, let me tell you about another friend of mine …
So, this friend of mine has an online business, but she also lives in my area. We were having dinner this past summer and she told me about a conference she wanted to go to. The conference passes for this particular conference are quite expensive, and then there was airfare and a hotel on top of that.
Plus, she had some home renovations going on, so simply buying a conference pass was out of the question at that moment.
She mentioned that this conference offers giveaways for their passes on Instagram and she said she was going to enter one of them.
A few days ago, she won a pass!
She had set that intention when we were at dinner, she entered the contests, and she won!
When I reminded her about our conversation at dinner, she said she had totally forgot about it. But, apparently, the universe remembered!
Now, I know, it does sound a little “out there,” but I have certainly experienced some moments in my life, and have heard others’ stories that makes me think there is something to The Law Of Attraction.
You still have to put forth effort, and work for things, I’m not saying that you’re going to get the life you desire by simply thinking about it.
But I am saying it can’t hurt to start trying this!
Become clear abut what you want. Create a vision board or write it down. Say what you are going to achieve. Don’t say “I’m going to try.” Say “I am.” And keep telling yourself that, even if it feels silly.
You may just be setting yourself up for a lot of awesome things!
