Are You Focused On What You Want?

Part of having a successful business is being focused.

If you’re constantly scattered and not working towards a goal, it’s going to be very hard to be successful. You’ll never reach your goals if you’re working in different directions.

You may be thinking “I’m focused on my business all day – it’s always on my mind; and I’m still not as successful as I want to be.”

Well, there’s more than just thinking about it.  You have to focus on what you want.

What do you want out of your business?

How much do you want to make? How do you want to make it? What are you going to do to make it?

For example, if you own a craft business, how much do you want to earn this week, month, or year? Do you want to sell online? Do you want to sell at shows? Do you want to get wholesale accounts with stores? How are you going to do these things? How are you going to get the word out about your Etsy shop? Which shows are you going to apply to? Which stores are you going to call, and which ones are you going to send your line sheets to?

If you have a service based business, how much do you want to make? Who is your ideal client? Where are they located? How are you going to get in touch with them? What services do they need? Why should they hire you, versus your competition?

As you can see, these questions are a lot more thought provoking and require much more focus than simply thinking about your business or even thinking that you’d like to make $100, $1,000, or $5,000 this month.

How focused are you on your business? Are you focused on what you want?
