Melissa’s Top 5 MUST Read Blogs!

So many blogs, so little time. Many Blogs have filtered on and off my list over time, but these ones have stood the test of time. Outside of IndieBizChicks, these are the top read blogs on my google reader! These are in no particular order as I love them all the same!

Photobucket1. My Wife Quit her Job– This blog is written by the owners of https://bumblebeelinens.com and is based off of how they went from spending $600 at ground zero to making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year doing something they are passionate about, so that she could stay home with their child. If you need a game plan or a fix for any problem you come up with when creating any type of business from choosing a shopping cart for your website to the importance of Customer Service, it is here!

Photobucket2. Blacksburg Belle– I love April and Linda, for all of us ladies who actually get along with our mother in-laws! They are all about figuring out and following your passion, and then they take it a step further by teaching you how to make money doing it! She not only teaches you how to do it, but she does it herself to demonstrate her plans success!

Photobucket3. Laura Roeder– Laura is one of my HEROS! The reason is, is that she had a fairly successful business a couple years ago, but she had to work her butt off to be successful. At one point she worked with someone who was famous and realized that there was a better way! Laura Roeder teaches how to build your own fame! Plus, she also makes using social media in business accessible to everyone whether you have never heard of facebook and twitter or just need a few tips to get you going!

Photobucket4. Pete Knowlton– Pete is an aspiring writer who teaches you about the creative process in writing, as well as giving some great book reviews! I like this blog because he does a great job of not making everything overly technical and by giving you the key points of books in a lighthearted fashion that makes you want to keep reading, and improve your own writing! I find that I am able to use a lot of these techniques in story telling and my own recreational writing.

Photobucket5. Design*Sponge– Have you ever had those moments where you are sitting at your craft table and all the sudden you have crafters block? Design*Sponge is the way to DESTROY this terrible terrible condition. They not only post great articles, but they also post before and after pics of different projects to show you that no matter how ugly something is, there is beauty in it!

As a bonus:

Why I love IndieBizChicks.com! I love Crissy’s blog because she has a bit of a splash of everything I am looking for. She is running a successful blog herself and lets you know what she does to do it. She is motivated and straight forward. I also love that her blog is focused on the craft business and using social media and other free or very low cost resources to do it. She gives us access to all the tools she herself uses and is successful with! Now that is what I’m talking about!
