I love blogging. I love so many things about it. The writing, the connection with people, the ART of it (and yes, there is an art to blogging). I also love the diversity of blogging. Some people blog to take a stand. Some blog for money. Some blog for art. There are so many reasons that people start blogging.
I thought it would be fun to ask people what their favorite part of blogging is. I find the answers very interesting – as everyone has their own reason.
First up, is is Courtney Dial of Pizzazzerie.com
“During my first year of work after graduate school, I fell into the 9-to-5 rut and wasn’t feeling very creatively fulfilled from the work itself. It was very mundane though I knew it was “professional” so I stuck with it and filled my evenings watching bad TV and wishing I had another “project” or fun escape.
I always found myself browsing party websites and loving the showcased designs. Throwing parties and other fun, crafty projects has always been a hobby so I jumped in the pool of “party design sites”. There are a lot of us and we are all so very supportive.
For me, it was a creative outlet to a larger world where I could interact with others who shared my interest and love for tablescape design. I soon began monetizing the site and within 4 months, left my full-time job to continue growing Pizzazzerie.com. So it started as a creative outlet but it has definitely become a full-time adventure.
Blogging lets me reach thousands at the touch of a button to share a fabulous giveaway or showcase a new holiday table. I love the community feel of interacting with readers and featuring their own designs. It really feels like I work in an office of 1,000 designers when really all it takes is a computer! I know people blog for different reasons and I’ve seen those reasons change for me personally but having that creative outlet is what has kept me inspired and enthusiastic about the blogging world.”
