One of the best tips I can give you to help you grow your business in the coming year is to be consistent. Yeah, sounds pretty simple – but it’s easier said than done!
We all have things that get “in the way.” That’s life. But if you let them get in front of your business, they can pile up over time and completely block you from your biz.
I work a full-time job outside of the home – in addition to Indie Biz Chicks and other websites. I don’t always have time when I get home to cook dinner, clean the house AND blog! I understand what you are going through!
The key is to work with the time you have – and really work. Chatting on Facebook or Twitter might be fun – but it isn’t necessarily work. Yes, they are great marketing tools, but if you just spent an hour talking about peanut butter cookies, you aren’t marketing your biz (unless you make and sell peanut butter cookies).
That hour would have been better spent by blogging, making product, or writing your newsletter, etc. And you will be amazed at what you can accomplish in an hour if you sit down and really work!
Remember – put in the time you can – and do it regularly!
So true, Chrissy. Thanks for making me re-focus. You’re right, getting on twitter or FB is fun and good for networking, but hours could pass…..and you haven’t put up new content, new products, new info….etc. Thanks for the reminder! Have a great Christmas.
