If you’re sales aren’t as good as you’d like them to be, you’re probably thinking that there is something wrong with you – or your products / services.
Chances are – the only problem is your WORDS!
The words you use in your item descriptions and on your sales pages have the power to turn your readers into customers. This is called “copywriting” — and if you’re a fan of Mad Men, you’ll know that this is what Don Draper specializes in.
I like to give out the example of the coffee maker. If you were selling one, you might give out the features – such as an auto timer function. Instead, talk about the benefits! For example – tell people how much easier life will be when they set the auto feature at night and wake up to fresh brewed coffee in the morning.
The next time you sit down to write an item description or a sales page, think about what your product / service has to offer, and how it can make your customers’ lives better! THAT is what you want to write about!
