Yes – it is summer outside, and you’re more likely to be thinking about going to the beach or pool than you are to be thinking about the holidays… But like it or not, this is the time to be thinking about your holiday promotions!
Need some help to get started? Here are a few ideas!
Early Bird Sale – Get a jump start on sales by offering a few items at a discount in early November. There are some people who like to get their holiday shopping done as soon as possible. If you wait until December to host a holiday sale, you may miss out on these shoppers!
Black Friday / Cyber Monday Sale – The day after Thanksgiving is known as “Black Friday” and retailers have been offering big sales on that day for years. Many retailers have started offering their discounts on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and have extended them to the Monday after Thanksgiving (known as “Cyber Monday”).
Whether you decide on a one day sale during that time frame or host a sale throughout the weekend, this i the time to do it! Shoppers are expecting to get deals this weekend, and if you don’t offer one, they will get one from one of your competitors.
After Christmas Clearance – If you make holiday-related items, put them on clearance the day after Christmas. Lots of people will shop on this day and stock up for next year!
