Here’s what you should do:
• Engage in conversation with others – remember, this is a social networking site! The posts that begin with @ are replies that I am making to others – it’s our conversation
• Tweet about what you are doing (see how I posted about a show I was going to watch that night?
• Link to your blog! See how I linked to a new blog post I had written?
• Promote your products! See how I promoted the $4 ad special I had running?
• Do all of this in balance — Your Tweets should contain a little bit of everything!
Here’s what NOT to do:
• Only talking about you
• Spamming with links or ads (no one wants to follow an ad feed)
• Offering non-constructive criticism
• Pushing business opportunities on those who haven’t asked for info
• Harvesting contact information without permission
• Flaming competitors
How To Get Followers:
• Tweet about things your target market is interested in; that way if someone uses the Twitter search function for that topic, they will find you.
• Use the Twitter search function yourself to find the people who are talking about things such as green products, toxins, home businesses, etc. (On the right hand side of Twitter, there is a search box. Type in what you are looking for in the box)
• Attend Twitter Parties!!! This is a great way to meet people. I have them on Monday nights at 9pm Eastern. Visit this link to find each week’s topic: https://indiebizchicks.com/wp/?s=indiebizchat&submit=Search
• MomItForward.com also has regular Twitter Parties. You can view their topics here: https://momitforward.com/gno
