Your Social Media Tool Box For Holiday Marketing

xmas-tree copySocial Media can be a HUGE help when it comes to getting the word out about your  Holiday Specials! Not sure if you’re using it right? Or if you’re on the “right” networks? Here are some tips on your “social media toolbox.”

Twitter is kind of like a “virtual office water cooler.” You can pop onto the site for a few minutes, make some small talk and then go back to your work.

Yes, I said make small talk. You should be having some conversations on Twitter. It’s okay to talk about what you saw on TV last night or what recipe you are making for dinner. But don’t forget to talk about your business!

If you are very new to Twitter, you may not have many followers yet. The easiest way to get followers is to start following others! They will be notified when you start following them, and they will click on your profile to see who you are. And if they like what you’re saying, they’ll follow you back.

You may already have a personal Facebook – but I don’t want you to do your primary marketing from this account. I want you to set up a Facebook page for your business. Your readers can “like” your page, and when they do this, they will see the status updates that come from your page. This way, you can market to the people who want to hear about your business, and leave the pictures from your high school prom private on your personal profile.

Pinterest is HUGE right now! These are “virtual bulletin boards” and people can “pin” the links they like to their “boards.”
You are going to add the links of your products / services. These are going to get “pinned” and “re-pinned.” The more people see them, the better!

With this site, you don’t have to worry so much about having followers. People can browse everything in a category, and they will be able to see your links whether they are following you or not.

Instagram is a photo sharing app, and it’s one of my favorite social media outlets! If you have a smartphone, download the app. Once you’ve downloaded it, start taking pictures of your products, and then uploading them, and sharing them, through Instagram.

If you don’t sell physical products, you can still take some screenshots of your virtual product and upload them!

Wondering how to get followers? Again, just like Twitter, click on the profiles of the people you follow and see who they’re following. Whenever you start following someone, the person will be notified and they may choose to start following you back.
