  1. I believe a “good blog” is a blog where the company and the target market get everything they want. For the target market I think it is important to not always see a sale in every post so offer free stuff or advice. For the company I think it where you can establish yourself as an expert in your field and get prospects and/or clients through the information you have provided in your blog.

  2. I think good blog means giving your readers something they can relate to, bond with, so they keep coming back for more. They want to be engaged and maybe learning something 🙂

  3. I think good blogging is writing that is entertaining as well as informative. I mean, the best info in the world is not going to be read if the writing style is a snooze. Sometimes, it’s just fun. To echo Glenda – it’s not seeng a dollar sign in every post! Of course, I write my blog for fun and not for money (at the moment), so that might be why I think that.

  4. Giving “good blog” is creating content that your readers want to read and that brings out your best writing. Its something that you believe in and know about. If you have good material your audience will return to your blog again.

  5. Good blog is giving readers a reason to come back with unique content they can’t get anywhere else. You are providing them with information and thoughts they can’t get anywhere else that is original and thought provoking. You are the answer to their questions, the fill in for the gaps in their needs, the niche that no one else fills.

  6. What is a good blog?
I find a good blog is interesting and fun to read. It gives an insight into the product and or personality behind the writer. It has a genuine purpose and does not have a sense of blogging for blogging’s sake.

  7. For me a good blog is informative and entertaining at the same time. I love reading about hints and tips, experiences that I can learn from and recommendations to websites with great deals.

  8. A good blog I think should be focused and informative, yet unique or fun to stand out. I believe you need to be able to express your style and personality well in your posts so that the readers see you as an individual instead of some sterile factoid site.

  9. As I am quite new to all this, I don’t think I really know what ‘Good Blog’ is.
What I do know personally, is that the blogs I view that only show the persons artworks for sale, don’t interest me very much. I do like to read something interesting about the person, what they do in their life. What started them off. Where they are going with things now. But I am all ears and eyes for what you consider ‘Good Blog’, so I can learn how to write a good blog

  10. I think good blog is providing information that is useful and interesting to your readers, making a connection with them, and enticing them to come back for more. I find this to be much harder than it sounds.

  11. Giving good blog is making sure you walk the line between being informative and businesslike, and talking to a friend who has come to you looking for information. It’s making sure you give share knowledge without overkill, and making sure you leave them wanting to come back for more. It’s not adding too much FLUFF (you know, all the ‘buttons’ for all those cheesy awards for fancy blogs) but making sure they know you’ve been recognized if it is pertinent to your industry. It’s remembering that sometimes ‘less is more’, be informative without elaborating too much.

It’s remembering that your customers (readers!) are as busy as you are! They want to get in, get the info they need, and get back to their lives.

Make it short, to the point, and interesting.

  12. I think good blog means a well written, intersting read. My favourite bloggers are nuts about their chosen obsessions and they are always entertaining 🙂

  13. For me to love a blog and keep coming back, I need to laugh and relate to what that blogger is about. My favorite blogs are written by people that I would love to have as friends, and while most of them are written by people who have a product to promote, I never get the impression that they only see their readers as customers.

  14. Good Blog to me is getting people interested enough in what you’re saying to want to visit your site and purchase from you~ period~ After all ~ that’s what blogging is all about~ informing people about you and your products/services~

  15. I think good blog is having content that entertains and informs your readers of something they can relate to. I’m still trying to work on that! Thanks Crissy, for all you work!

  16. Giving ‘good blog’ in my opinion is balancing information and sales pitches (if you have a product/company-based blog like I’m starting) – providing content that is interesting to readers, making them want to return to keep reading and not being overly pushy in sales. Putting a human face to the business, connecting with readers & following their lead by posting about topics they say are important to them. These are all things I hope to do as I build my blog.

Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  17. To me, giving good blog means to write about a variety of topics, not just your business, to keep your readers interested and wanting to check in often to see what you have to say. Let them share in your accomplishments, see where you work and what you’re working on, show them how to do things (tutorials), and how to prepare that great recipe you found. Make it feel like they are sitting down to have coffee/tea with a good friend. Just like a good friend, they will remember you when they have a need for your goods or services.

  18. A sign of a good blog is a place where your readers keep coming back.
I try to write about different things of interest to my targeted followers as well as product giveaways. I listen and interact with my readers as well. I enjoy their comments and ideas and show my appreciation of the time they spend on my blog with my product giveaways.

  19. I think “giving good blog’ makes your readers want more and more! Something interesting and something they think isn’t a ‘waste of time.’ Yikes- I don’t know how to do this!
