I Quit The Day Job….

For the past couple of years, while I’ve been building my business, I have been juggling IndieBizChicks with a day job.  It hasn’t been easy. But it did help me get a car, an apartment, and all new furnishings. (Remember – when I left Alaska, I left everything behind)

For the past little bit, I’ve felt like the time was right to leave the day job and focus on my business. There are more things that I want to do with this site – as well as other sites, and I just don’t have the time when I’m working 40 hours a week outside the home.

I am mostly excited, but if I said I wasn’t at least a little scared, I’d be lying. It’s all on my shoulders now. I don’t have anyone else to depend on. I have to MAKE this happen! Now, I’ve been earning a regular income with my site for sometime, but there is always that possibility that everything could fall apart.

But if I don’t try, I’ll never know if I could do it. I’d rather try and fail miserably than spend my life not knowing. If worse comes to worse and things fall apart around me, I’ll go get another job. Big whoop.

BUT – if things go awesome. If I not only continue earning what I’m already earning, but also expand and grow my business and earn more money, well – if that happens, it’s all worth it.

So, wish me luck. As of this week, I’ll no longer be working for the man!

  1. Hi Crissy,

I had no idea you were working 40 hours a week as well as running this business, where did you find the time to sleep. You’ve done an awesome job on this site in your ‘spare’ time and I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us.

The very best of success to you!

    Yvonne

  2. I am so excited for you! For those of us still in the day job, you’re the one that got out! Sort-of like a prison break, but not so gritty. This is going to be awesome and I’m looking forward to seeing what you do!

    🙂

  3. OMG! We need to get coffee and catch up! You said it would be easy to keep in touch. So why haven’t we? Call me!
