Description: Basecamp is a project management software that allows you to manage and track various tasks in one place. It allows you to create and assign projects quickly and easily. This web-based tool gives you the ability to keep your business projects all in one convenient place with almost no hassle and very little time.

Review: Basecamp is a great way to keep track of all you need to do in your business, whether you outsource work yourself or you have client work that needs to be done. It’s a very user-friendly format that somewhat resembles a forum or message board.

One of the first things I noticed with Basecamp was the ability to customize the look of it. I have clients and want them to be able to access projects that I am working on for them. Because of this presenting my task management system professionally was something I thought about. It really impressed me that you can customize the way Basecamp looks by choosing a color scheme and uploading the company logo.

Next, I loved the ease of use, not just for me, but for clients and contractors as well. Projects are easily assigned to only those I want to make them available to. Once I post a project it appears in a message board type layout that makes it very easy for others to respond to and the responses are all right there for easy referral to past posts. If I need to change or add items to a project, I can easily go in and create a post in the thread and viola! it’s there for everyone to see and respond to.

Clients can easily upload any notes they have for their project via the file sharing part of each project thread. Then, when a contractor completes a project they simply upload their finished product to the thread as well.

There’s even a place to keep track of all project accomplishments. Milestones in each thread allow me to quickly see when things are due and my contractors can even mark them as completed once they are finished. This is great for projects that require multiple steps because I can easily set due dates for each step in the process and see where I stand with each one.

Once a project is finished, I can archive the thread so that it isn’t taking up space in my account against my active projects, but I still have access to those projects at any time.

Every account has a free 30-day trial and there are various accounts to choose from, depending on what your needs are. Their plans range from completely free to $150.00 per month, so picking one that’s right for your budget and company needs is a snap.

  1. I agree with your review. I have two clients that use it and it’s great. It’s nice to be able to to one place to see everything. If you have questions you can post a comment and see the chain of events. I love it.
