Review: Google Calendar

Product Name: Google Calendar

Description: Google Calendar is just that a big calendar. It’s like a desktop calendar plus lots more online. With all the functions available this calendar can soon become the hub of the family and your life. You’ll never forget another business or personal event again. The calendar is free to use as long as you have a Google account.

Review: Say goodbye to your big bulky, coffee cup ring stained desktop calendar. Now Google has a calendar that does exactly what that one did and more. (It won’t hold coffee cup rings unfortunately)

With Google Calendar you can view what’s going on in your life by the day, week or even the month. This helps with scheduling all those business task due dates, personal and work related appointments, holidays, birthdays and more. It also has a mini calendar that lets you highlight specific days that will be pronounced on the big calendar. No more excuses for missing an anniversary or important client deadline.

You can quickly create events and keep them all right there in front of you. The events can also be set up as recurring or not and you can even choose whether to make those events public or private. In a hurry? Just click the Quick Add button and the event is created without filling out the whole form. Go back later and enter more detail if necessary.

Google Calendar also allows you to incorporate events from other people’s calendars. If you get an email that contains an event just click a link and that event is added into your calendar. No more copy and paste of information from an email. What a time saver that can be.

You can send invitations and get RSVPs from friends and family too. Plus you can leave comments about your invitation for all your invitees to read. If you don’t want to mess with checking your email more than once or twice a day you can even receive notifications via a text message on your cell phone.

It’s also easy to customize your calendar too. Choose different colors and layouts that fit your personality and help you distinguish between business and personal calendars. It also allows you to search public calendars and add holidays to your own calendar quickly and easily.

With Google calendar there is never any reason to miss that special event in your life. It makes life easier in more ways than one.

Criticism: The only criticism I have is that you must have a Google account in order to take advantage of this calendar. It’s not hard to start a Google account, but would be much nicer if you could just use the calendar part without the whole account.
