Some Of The WordPress Plugins That I Use

WordPress plugins are kinda like apps for your cell phone… They customize your WordPress and make it work the you want it to work. I get asked a lot about the plugins I use. Here is a list of 10 plugins that I use and why I recommend them:

All in One SEO Pack SEO stands for “search engine optimization,” and when you practice SEO, you are helping the search engines find you. Trust me, you WANT the search engines to find you. When that happens, you get increased traffic. And that’s a good thing.

Articles This will help you create a page where your readers can find all of your posts. It automatically creates a list for you.

Featured Content Gallery If you want to showcase some pictures, graphics, or posts, this is the plugin for you. It creates a very professional looking (and highly customizable) gallery for you.

Google Analyticator You should be keeping an eye on your website statistics. Google Analytics is a great stats program.

Google XML Sitemaps This is another boost to your SEO!

HeadSpace2 If you have experience in building in HTML, you know about meta tags and how they can help the search engines find you. Since you are not coding your pages by hand in WordPress, you can’t put in meta tags. This

podPress If you are a podcaster, this makes adding your podcast to your blog very easy

WordPress Automatic Upgrade Sometimes, it seems like a new version of WordPress is released every day of the week. This takes the work out of upgrading.

Tweet This I love this plugin! See the Twitter and Facebook options at the end of this post. This plugin does that.

WP-Contact Form If you don’t want to display your email address on your blog, use this plugin to create a contact form.

****If you are new to WordPress, I recommend checking out Kelly McCausey’s WordPress Orientation webinar classes to learn even more about this tool!

  2. I can vouch for the All-in-one SEO pack … that plug-in has worked wonders for my search engine optimization! I also like PostRank for keeping track of which posts are more popular than others.
